God's Word becomes our anchor in a confusing and sinful world, our standard for truth in a world of lies and misinformation, and our daily bread in times of trial and temptation, because as we meditate on God's Word and obey it, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ, and we are equipped to live the life God has called us to live for His glory, as seen in Psalm 119, Matthew 4:4, and John 17:17. For their protection, discernment, and joy, Christians must study the Bible, because knowing Scripture protects believers from deception, sin, and doubt, it helps them know God's will in everyday matters, and it fuels their love for God and others, as stated in Psalm 119:11, Matthew 4:1-11, and 22:37.

Jesus did this when he resisted the temptations of Satan by quoting Scripture, as seen in Matthew 4:1-11, and the psalmist also did this when he said, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you," as stated in Psalm 119:11.
